What lands on the project when we join

We are an extra pair of hands that already speaks the language. There is no ramp-up week and no explaining what a shortfall in week seven means.

13-week cash flow forecasts. Direct method, receipts and payments, built from the ledger and the bank, reconciled back to actuals every week. We set up the variance reporting and run the weekly cycle if you want us to.

Scenario and options modelling. Downside cases, sensitivities, funding requirement under each path, the cost of doing nothing. Built so the options can be compared on one page in a partner meeting.

Data tooling. Power BI, Python, SQL and Alteryx when the data is messy or large, so that analysis that would take a graduate three days takes an afternoon and can be rerun when the client sends a better file.

Executive-facing delivery. We sit in the room with the CFO and the board. We have run crisis management offices, briefed executives during insolvency processes and presented analysis to lenders. We will not need shielding from the client.

How the arrangement works

Your brand or the client's. Most often we deliver as part of your team, under your engagement letter and your brand, and the client sees your firm. If you would rather introduce us and have us contract directly with the client, that works too. You tell us which.

Day rate by default. A day rate is the usual structure because scope moves on live projects. Fixed scope, capped fees and other structures are open to discussion.

On site, then remote. We are on site at the client at the start, at minimum for discovery and to meet the finance team, because the useful information never arrives by email. The build then happens remotely unless the project needs a physical presence.

Conflict checks. We run a conflict check before accepting any work, and we will decline rather than work around one. If we are already on a project that touches your matter, we will say so immediately.

Confidentiality. We sign your NDA and your firm's independence and confidentiality terms. Client names never appear on this website. Every case study here is anonymised, and that is how yours would stay.

Short notice, three cities. Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Keep us in the loop and we can make ourselves available when you need.

Why partners hand over the model and stop worrying about it

Shaun O’Reilly is a Chartered Accountant and a former Associate Director in turnaround and restructuring at Alvarez & Marsal, and before that at PwC in Australia and the UK. More than ten years on restructuring and operational improvement projects, most of them under deadline pressure with incomplete information.

That history matters for one practical reason. He has been the person on your side of the table. He knows what the partner needs to see before a lender call, what an independent business review actually requires, and why the model has to reconcile to the bank before anyone argues about EBITDA.

He is also the one doing the work. Either delivering himself, or upskilling your team on your project.

Questions partners ask first

Will you approach my client afterwards?

Not to sell against you. FP&A Hub is one person who builds models, not a firm that sells competing engagements, and our work comes from partners who use us again. If a client asks to keep us on after your engagement ends, for example to maintain the model or run the monthly forecast, we tell you before we agree anything.

Can you work under our methodology and templates?

Yes. If your firm has a standard 13-week model, a standard IBR structure or a house style for board papers, we build inside it. If you do not have one, we bring ours and hand it over with the file.

What size of piece is worth handing over?

Anything from three days of modelling to a workstream running for several months. Short pieces are often the most useful: a model rebuilt over a week, a sanity check on someone else's forecast, a sensitivity pack before a lender meeting.

Who signs the engagement letter?

Your firm, in most cases, with us engaged as a subcontractor on your paper. Where you prefer a direct introduction, the client engages us and you stay out of the contract chain. Both are normal.

Bring us the bottleneck

If you have a project with a modelling or data problem sitting on it, send it over and we will look at how we can tag-team it. Two lines is enough: what the project needs and when you can talk.
